Stars O'er Leighlinbridge

Jason LocyPoetryComment

Brilliant be the morning gleam

In waking waltz of childhood dream

In truth I speak of mid day sun

Stretching the sky in sleepy yawn

Loosened earth from harvest field

Steams the valley with fruitful yield

All the heaps of thistle and stalk

Rest in shadows along the walk.

Now at dusk falls the light

Conceiving faeries into flight

Dripping sky settles the grass

While tired winds gently pass

Tizzy tizzy bounce my thoughts

Until the sky breaks the lock,

That holds my fears and tames my dreams,

With star light spears, celestial streams.

Tired they fall, fiercely they blaze

Gathering the me who anxiously fades.

All at once with valiant roar

I beam with delight and freely soar.
