Oh Night Divine: An Invitation to Hope
Hey friend — I’m so glad you’re here. I created Oh Night Divine as a simple, beautiful guide to help us chase beauty during Advent.
Because beauty is one of the ways God wakes us up. It’s how He whispers to us. Think of all the ways you experience beauty during the season: through candlelight, quiet rooms, warm kitchens, snowfall, starlight, soft music, cheerful music, deep laughter, small traditions, and all those little things that make a house feel like home.
C.S. Lewis once wrote about “homeliness,” that deep, quiet beauty found in the ordinary things of life. Lewis’s best friend, Arthur Greeves, inspired him to find beauty in those simple yet profound everyday wonders, like a well-set table, a stack of books by a window, a lamp glowing at twilight, a well-ordered garden, or a kitchen table made up just so.
You see, even the most ordinary things in this world possess the power to stir something in us because beauty points beyond itself. It draws us homeward — toward the One who is Beauty.
Isaiah once wrote:
“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light.” (NLT)
And that’s what Advent is for. It’s the season where we notice the small lights in the darkness, and let them lead us back to Bethlehem, back to hope again.
If you’re longing for warmth, for wonder, for a slower rhythm — for the kind of beauty that heals and holds and reminds you of God’s nearness — I’d love to walk with you during Advent this year.
Oh Night Divine is a journey of Scripture, reflection, and quiet practices designed to help you see beauty again, the beauty that prepares the heart for Christ.
If this speaks to you, join me. Let’s chase beauty this Advent and let it lead us home.
